Keraton Solo

That morning we started the tour at 7 am to go to Borobudur temple, because they had booked a ticket to enter Borobudur at 8.30 am. The journey from the center of Yogyakarta city to Borobudur temple takes approximately 1 hour. Luckily that morning the traffic was not to crowded so we could get to Borobudur temple as we wanted.

Pawon Temple

That morning Borobudur was not too crowded with visitors, maybe because it was low season. The advantage for my guests is because they can enjoy Borobudur temple comfortably, not crowded with visitors. But for me it may not be so good, because it mean I don’t get many guests.

Two hours passed at Borobudur temple and we switched to Mendut and Pawon temple. At the Pawon temple they had time to enjoy the leak coffee in front of the temple. Luck coffee is indeed the most expensive coffee, because the process is a bit long.

After finishing enjoying the Luak coffee we move to the Mendut temple. Incidentally Mendut temple is currently in the process of renovation. So can’t go up and go around the temple.

It seems like the location of the entrance ticket to the mendut temple will also be moved to a more strategic place.

Discovering the majestic Prambanan Temple

Sari temple

After finishing enjoying the Mendut temple, we continue our journey to Prambanan Temple. Approximately 1,5 hours drive to Prambanan Temple from Mendut temple. By passing through the salak plantation on the left and right of the road. Occasionally seeing the magnificence of Mount Merapi. In my opinion, Prambanan temple is the most beautiful and grandest Hindu temple in Yogyakarta. Besides Prambanan Temple, there are threee other temples that are located in one location. The temples name is Luhung temple, Bubrah temple and Sewu temple.

They also agree with me that Prambanan Temple is a beautiful and magnificent Hindu temple. After enjoying Prambanan Temple we immediately headed to Plaosan temple. Here we spend the day watching the sunset, before going back to the hotel. And our first day tour is over. The next day we have an appointment to meet at 8 am in the hotel lobby.

Solo Antique market

30 minutes before the appointment time I have arrive at the hotel. Today we will visit Sambi Sari temple, Sari temple, Solo antique market and olo Mangkunegaran palace. Sambi sari temple and sari temple are rarely visited by tourists, although actually the temple is no less beautiful then other temples. The historical story of these two temples is also interesting to know.

Next we leave the temples to go to the solo antique market. The journey from sari temple to solo is approximately 1,5 hours by private car. This market is known as the center for buying and selling and or antique goods. These items include ancient wooden masks, keris, paintings, household items, old coins or old statues. This market is open from 9 am to 4 pm everyday.

This markets adjacent to the mangkunegaran palace which is only about 300 meters away. So after being satisfied with looking at the goods in the market and trying the local food we headed to the palace. This palace is one of the palaces in Solo, besides the Kasunanan palace. Mangkunegaran palace has a combination of Javanese, Dutch, and Chinese style. This palace also exhibits a collection of antiques such as weapons, clothes, jewelry and photos.

After finishing enjoying this palace we head to the legendary Klewer market. Klewer market is also the center of batik clothes in Solo center. A journey to Yogyakarta and Solo with my guests from Poland it ends here. They were very happy with this tour and we talked a lot in the car throughout the journey.
