Balancing Work and Passion

Balancing Work and Passion

Working with love and care for fellow living beings in this world without any ulterior motives. Indeed, we must work to meet the needs of our lives or our families. But we must also balance between working and caring for others. Balancing work and passion is a form of concern from me and my friends for the preservation of turtles in Java and Bali. While we are only able to move in this area, hopefully in the future my friends and I can reach wider conservation, not only Java and Bali but also Indonesia.

Balancing Work and Passion
Mr Putu Sasmita and Mr Fajar

In the last few years I have been active in turtle conservation, and until now I am still active. All of that started from the conservation of the Mino Raharjo turtle in Bantul Yogyakarta. Fajar and Timan are turtle heroes from conservation in Bantul. They actively campaign about how important it is to preserve turtles in our marine ecosystem. Coincidentally on may 15, 2025 we were invited by BAKTI BCA to learn together about conservation in Banyuwangi East Java. Which was attended by several conservation friends in Java and Bali. There we could get to know friends and share experiences about turtles.

On May 27, 2025 to June 5, 2025 I have an overland tour from Jakarta to Sanur Bali. Of course by visiting tourist attractions along the way from Java and Bali. I escorted 2 guests from Austria by driving a clean, strong and comfortable expander car. Before starting the trip I invited Fajar to accompany me throughout the trip. But because of his busy schedule Fajar couldn’t come with me. Instead Fajar promised to meet me after I finished the tour and meet in Sanur Bali, the place where I finished the tour with my guests.

Finally on the 5th I was able to meet Fajar in Sanur Bali and it turned out that Fajar invited 1 friend, is Darwis. Fajar’s arrival in Bali was to visit friends of the turtle conservation on Kerobokan Beach, Buleleng, Bali, called the Turtle Ranger Conservation Center Buleleng, which is chaired by Mr. Putu Sasmita. After we enjoyed lunch on Sanur Beach, we immediately headed to Buleleng to meet Mr. Putu Sasmita. Along the way we enjoyed the beauty of the island of Bali, from its rice fields, neat and beautiful temples and its traffic.

Balancing Work and Passion at the Turtle Ranger Conservation Center Buleleng Bali

Friends of the Kerobokan Buleleng Bali Conservation Society have been waiting for our arrival. Mr. Putu Sasmita, a turtle hero who is a motivator for friends in Bali has prepared accommodation for us on the beautiful Kerobokan beach. That night we talked a lot about the plan for the first turtle hatchling release which will be held on Lovina Beach, Bali. Mr. Putu and his conservation friends already have a good plan and program for the release event. With the support of the Buleleng Regency government, the restaurant and hotel association in Lovina. Hopefully the event can run smoothly !!.

Finally, the long-awaited day has arrived, we all gathered at the Lovina Haven Boutique and Resort hotel. All relations, communities, mangrove conservation friends and government officials were present at the event. This was a very luxurious and successful inaugural event. All those present seemed enthusiastic and fully supported the turtle conservation on Kerobokan Beach, Buleleng, Bali. Congratulations to Mr. Putu Sasmita, Mr. Wayan and friends in Buleleng, you are all great people. Keep moving for the preservation of our nature. Hopefully we can meet in the next program. Salam Lestari !!!
