We all must have our own childhood memories, whether it’s those who live in the city or in the countryside. Always happy and we don’t have to worry about this life. Luckily I was born and grew up in the countryside. So I can still feel how exciting it is to bathe in the river.
Far from the glider of the city and don’t know gadgets yet. A time that is never forgotten, by presenting a simple life, harmony and peace full. Even though I still live in my hometown until now, but that nostalgia will never be repeated again. The freedom to play in the open nature, whether in rice fields, gardens, clear river or playing traditional games is so imprinted in my mind.
Life in the village teaches us about simple happiness. Helping our parents find firewood to cook all kitchen needs. In the past, there was no electricity in my village. So at night my parents turned on the petromak light [ I don’t know what it’s called in English]. I also don’t use shoes when I go to school and only have one book that I put in my pants pocket.
Looking for crickets in the rice fields is one of the activities during the dry season. Then make your own cricket cage with bamboo material. Bring cricket to school that are put into the contents of the mango fruit that has been cleaned inside.
