All this time when I dropped of foreign tourists they were always curious about the durian fruit sold on the side of the road. Between wants to try but afraid of the taste.

In every region in Indonesia, especially Java and Bali, the durian season is the same time. The durian season in Indonesia generally occurs between November to March or October to December, although the schedule can vary depending on the region and rainfall.

When COVID 19 in Yogyakarta or in Bali, visits for tourism have decreased drastically. So I have to switch to another business, and I am trying to sell durian. In the morning before sunrise I left home to go to the Menorah mountains in Kulon Progo. I hope I can meet a local durian farmer who will sell his durian in the morning. I also have to keep going around to find their or I can go straight to the durian merchant.

After the durian was collected I went back home to selll durian on the side of the highway. That’s was I do almost every day during the COVID 19 pandemic. There is not to take advantage of a lot, the important thing is to meet the needs of the household.

Durian fruit that is exposed to rainwater, so we have to be careful to keep it. Other then that we also to be careful holding it because the thorns is too sharp. That’s how I survived during COVID 19, now tourism has been able to develop again. So for me durian is the king of fruits until now.
