Belitung is the name of an island in Sumatra that is famous for its beautiful and still natural tourist attractions. Lengkuas island, Kepayang island, Tanjung Kelayang beach are the names of some favorite places in Belitung. To visit some of these tourist attractions we have to use a tourist boat in Belitung.
The distance we travel from Tanjung Kelayang port by boat is approximately 45 minutes. The first destination is usually to Lengkuas Island which is the icon of Belitung Island. You will find many tourist boat in Belitung that lean on this island. On the island there is a turtle conservation and a lighthouse that is still functioning today. This is also place to take pictures because there are big rocks. The granite stone in Belitung has a unique shape, some resemble cubes or round.
After being satisfied with enjoying the Lengkuas Island, you can move to another spot. If you like snorkeling, you can go to the Batu Berlayar Island and Burung Island, the water in here is very clean. The underwater beauty on this island is still preserved. There are many coral reefs and various kinds of fish. Before snorkeling, it’s better to ask the local people first, so they know where is a good spot.
On the island there are also several seafood restaurants that are delicious and comfortable. You can enjoy lunch while seeing the beautiful scenery. In my opinion, you better order food first before doing snorkeling activities. So that when you finish snorkeling you can eat right away, you don’t have to wait long. After finishing the snorkeling tour you can return to the Kelayang port or continue other activities. There are still many tourist attractions in Belitung other than the ones I mentioned above.
