A Lasting Bond

“Hi Seven Trans Jogja! Wow! Congrats! It was very nice to read all the great reviews! I will be in Jogja from Tuesday 24 Nov – Friday 27 Nov and would very much like to engage the wonderful services of Mr Decky to be my driver/tour guide – read so much of his excellent hospitality 🙂 So is this request possible?? How can I contact him before my trip soon?? Thank you for your kind and immediate attention in this matter.” This is the first email sent in 2015, which was the beginning of the lasting bond.

lasting bond

It was the year 2015 when Mazlan Muhammad, a young Singaporean, first set foot in Yogyakarta. Intrigued by the city’s rich cultural heritage and stunning natural beauty, he booked a guided tour. Little did he know that this trip would change from traveler to be a brother ( from another mama dan papa, hehehe ). This was the beginning of the lasting bond.

Hi my name is Decky, a warm and friendly local guide or driver in Yogyakarta Java Indonesia. With my ground knowledge of Yogyakarta’s history, culture, and hidden gems, I turned Mazlan’s sightseeing tour into an immersive cultural experience. We spent days exploring ancient temples, bustling markets, and serene rice paddies, bonding over shared laughter and interesting conversations. This was the beginning of the lasting bond.

As our journey progressed, Mazlan and I realized we had more in common than just a love for travel. We shared a passion for music, a fondness for spicy food, and a deep appreciation for the simple things in life. What started as a professional relationship gradually blossomed into a genuine friendship. This was the beginning of the lasting bond.

Singaporean traveler

Over the years, we have kept in touch, visiting each other’s homes, and introducing their families. Mazlan has returned to Yogyakarta countless times, he visit feeling more like a homecoming than a vacation. me have even visited Singapore a few times, exploring the city with Mazlan as his guide. This was the beginning of the lasting bond.

Our friendship has stood the test of time, weathering life’s ups and downs. We have celebrated each other’s successes, offered support during difficult times, and always found joy in each other’s company. This was the beginning of the lasting bond.

Today, Mazlan and I bond is stronger than ever. We become like family, and our story is a testament to the power of human connection. Our friendship is a reminder that even in a world that is constantly changing, the bonds we forge with others can last a lifetime. This was the beginning of the lasting bond.
