Fatahillah Museum

The Fatahillah Museum, which is also known as the Jakarta History Museum, is one of the icons of the Old City of Jakarta and is a silent witness to the long history of this city.  History

Built in 1710, this building originally functioned as Batavia’s city hall (Stadhuis van Batavia). With architecture inspired by the Dam Palace in Amsterdam, this building reflects the past of Dutch colonial rule. After undergoing several changes in function, finally in 1974 this building officially became a museum and changed its name to the Jakarta History Museum.
