Second Visit to Java

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw their smiling faces at the airport. Nathan and Beth, second visit to Java, the British couple I had guided around Yogyakarta two years ago, were back! They had booked their flight months in advance, and were so excited to revisit the Java Island, but this time with a more relaxed pace.

“It’s so good to see you again!” I exclaimed, giving them a warm hug. They were even more tanned than I remembered, and their eyes sparkled with anticipation. Over the next few weeks, Nathan and Beth became part of our family, for the second visit to java. They will stay at my home and I will be the host. We walked together out of the airport, our first destination was to find dinner at local restaurant. In the car they looked around and tried to remember the memories that once existed. Oh ya, just for information, for this second visit to java, I picked them up at the old Jogja airport, namely Adi Sucipto Airport Jogja, and now we have a new airport called Yogyakarta International Airport. The location of the new airport is currently in the Kuloprogo district, approximately 1 hour’s drive from the city of Yogyakarta.

Not long after driving, we arrived at their favorite fried rice seller stall. How happy the fried rice seller and Nathan were, they could meet again in a healthy and happy condition. We were immediately made fried rice and fried noodles according to our order. Nathan and Beth were very excited to taste the food they had been waiting for, bon appetite everyone. !! After finishing enjoy fried rice, we finally went home to rest. For this second visit to java, Nathan and Beth stayed at my house.

jomblang cave

Good morning, welcome Nathan and Beth! for the second visit to Java. I can’t believe it’s been two years since your last visit. It feels like just yesterday we were exploring the rice terraces together. Welcome back to your second home
It’s like old times! I’m so glad you decided to come back and visit us again. We’ve got so much to catch up on.

My wife, Rita Marita, has prepared breakfast for all of us. We also chatted about the differences in weather in the UK and Jogja. They feel the heat here for this second visit to Java. After enjoying breakfast together, we immediately went to visit Jomblang Cave in Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta. It took about 1 hour from home to Jomblang Cave. They really enjoyed the trip, seeing the rice fields, mountains and clear flowing rivers. Not long after, we arrived at Jomblang Cave and immediately started the tour there.

The cave was formed by a collapse doline, a type of sinkhole created when the surface of the earth collapses into an underground cavity. This created a deep, vertical shaft that is now a major attraction for adventurers and nature lovers. One of the most famous features of Jomblang Cave is the “Heaven’s Light” phenomenon. This occurs when sunlight filters through a hole in the cave ceiling, creating a breathtaking beam of light that illuminates the cave floor. The second visit to Java, they have experience offers a unique opportunity to explore the underground word and witness the incredible natural beauty of this geological wonder.

Visit Pindul Cave

After finishing the tour in Jomblang Cave, we continued our journey to Pindul Cave which is located not far away, about 30 minutes drive. We didn’t stop at a local restaurant because we had lunch in Jomblang Cave, which was included in the entrance ticket to the cave. for the second visit to java, Nathan and Beth want to explore the adrenaline places in Yogyakarta area.

Nathan and Beth had never been to this cave before, so on their second visit to java they took the opportunity for coming. We also prepared ourselves before joining the Pindul Cave tour. When we first arrived, we made the payment, then changed into our swimsuits and had to wear life jackets even though they were good at swimming.

Pindul cave is renowned for its stunning stalactites and stalagmites, formed over millions of years. Visitors can embark on a thrilling cave tubing adventure, floating along an underground river while marveling at the cave’s intricate formations. The experience offers a unique opportunity to connect with nature and appreciate the beauty of the earth’s geological processes. For this second visit to Java this time they are enjoyed the tour in Pindul cave.

After finished the tour at Pindul cave, for the second visit to java this time, they immediately took a shower to clean themselves. This time, after playing in the water for quite a while in the cave, they felt hungry and wanted to try instant noodles in the canteen. We enjoyed eating instant noodles while talking about our tour in Pindul Cave. While showing me photos and videos taken during the cave tour. And after finishing the tour in Pindul, we immediately continued our journey to Timang Beach.

Timang Beach

After driving for about 1 hour from Pindul, we arrived at Timang Beach. We couldn’t go straight to the beach because here we had to transfer vehicles with a 4×4 car. For this second visit to Java on this place they have experience hire jeep. Specifically for steep road terrain that couldn’t be passed by normal cars. The offroad started from the jeep basecamp, Nathan and Beth were excited to ride the car we rented.

The steep terrain, up and down hills and views of the mountains that occasionally appeared. And the South Sea added to the excitement of our adventure. After arriving at Timang Beach, they started to be curious about the spots they had there. There are 2 ways to get to the small island near the beach, by riding a gondola or walking on a rope bridge. This adventure is very challenging, and finally Nathan chose to walk the rope bridge while Beth and I chose to ride the gondola.

Gondola is originally used by local fishermen to reach their lobster rich hunting grounds. The wooden gondola at Pantai Timang has evolved into a popular tourist attraction. This manual, hand-pulled gondola offers a heart-pounding journey across the turbulent waters of the southern coast. The ride provides a glimpse into the daring spirit of the local people and the raw beauty of the surrounding nature. After being satisfied enjoying timing beach, we returned home to rest.
