Tangkuban Perahu

Tangkuban Perahu is a volcano located north of Bandung, West Java. The name “Tangkuban Perahu” comes from a local legend that describes this mountain as an overturned boat. With a height of around 2,084 meters, this mountain is one of the popular tourist destinations in Indonesia.

Tangkuban Perahu is included in the stratovolcano type volcano group. Volcanic activity has been recorded since the 17th century, with the last major eruption occurring in 1959. The craters at peak, such as Kawah Ratu, Kawah Domas, and Kawah Upas, hold both beauty and potential danger. Inside the crater, visitors can see fumaroles and hot spring pools which add to the attraction of this area.
