Temple Tours and Swiss Smiles

The story of this trip with a couple of romantic tourists from Switzerland, they are is Philipp and Nicole. Starting from the recommendation of a tourist who used temple tours in Yogyakarta around 2018 with me, he is Joachim Lang who is also from Switzerland. Joachim Lang is a person who has contributed to our family when Covid 19 came to Yogyakarta, he really influenced my family’s life. For the story of my journey with Joachim, I will tell you in the next episode.

That night, Philipp contacted me via WhatApps and asked about the availability of transportation or car rental to visit Borobudur temple in the morning. With a happy felling I agreed and I promised to pick them up in the morning at 7 am. Throughout the journey we also talked, joked, and laughed without realizing that we had arrived at the Borobudur temple. After parking the car, I took them to the entrance ticket and a place to wait for guide and exchange upanat or special sandals given to visitors at Borobudur temple.

As usual, after I finished talking them to the waiting are the guide, I went back to the waiting room near parking lot. After about two hours they finished visiting the Borobudur temple and meet me at the parking lot. After meeting them we continued our journey to Prambanan temple and we planned to go through salak plantation. I will show them how the salak tree is and what it feels like. Approximately 45 minutes from Borobudur and we arrive at the salak plantation. We went straight to the plantation and tried the salak fruit directly in the garden.

Journey to Prambanan Temple

After finished enjoy the fruits, we will continue our journey to Prambanan temple. But before that, we will stop for lunch at Padang restaurant. Unfortunatelyin this place I forgot to take a picture when we eat together. Here they like Padang cuisine which is similar to curry. With the cheap price and good taste. Then after enjoying such together, we continued our journey to Prambanan Temple. Which is not to far from the local restaurant.

After buying the entrance ticket, they were finally able to visit Prambanan temple with the weather still a little cloudy. About two hour they visited Prambanan Temple, and meet me again at the exit door. The time showed half past four in the afternoon. So we decided to just go back to the hotel, because the other tourist attractions were closed. But before going home, I want to show them another temple. The name is Plaosan Temple which is only 5 minutes away from Prambanan temple. Because it was raining at that time, so we saw Plaosan temple from inside the car. Which is Plaosan temple can be seen from inside the car or on the side of the highway.

Just a few minutes we enjoy the Plaosan temple and we immediately return to the hotel. That’s the story of the temple tours with Philipp and Nicole. Sorry if there are any mistakes in the writing. Hopefully it will be useful and can be a reference if you want to visit the temples in Yogyakarta with us. Thanks
