An unforgettable journey to the traditional market Lok Baintan Kalimantan. A very beautiful and memorable experience for me, when visiting the traditional market Lok Baintan in Kalimantan. Together with my familes from Singapore, there are 9 of us. Our meeting point is at South Kalimantan airport. I left from Yogyakarta and they left from Singapore. That morning I went to Yogyakarta airport which is in Kulon Progo district. Because I had to catch a morning flight to Kalimantan.
After finishing taking care of the requirements to fly, I can enter the plane. My flight is to Jakarta and I have to change planes to go to Kalimantan. Because at that time there was no plane that flew directly to Kalimantan. After arriving at Kalimantan airport, I had to wait for a few hours for the group from Singapore.
As soon as we met, we immediately went to the hotel to rest. Because we would wake up early to go to the traditional market. The time I’ve been waiting for has arrived, this is my first experience seeing a traditional floating market. Previously we had booked a private boat to transport us to the floating market. That morning the weather was very nice and we enjoyed the whole trip on the boat. After 1 hours drive we arrived at the floating market. How surprised I was to see so many boats selling their staff on the boat.
Various fruits, traditional foods, drinks, and their produce. In addition, we can also take their boat to go around the floating market without having to pay. Here also still trading with the barter system. I’m so happy to see all this beauty. Hopefully next time I can come back here to see their trading activities on the boat.
