Tahu Pong in Bantul

Tofu is my daily food or the people around me live and maybe residents in Java. In Bantul there is a mother who sells tofu pong who is very famous and becomes my favorite place to buy tofu. There are so many types of tofu, but the one we often find in Bantul is Tahu Pong.

I think why it’s called Tahu Pong because inside the tofu is empty or there is a cavity, not like knowing in general. According to the story, the production of Tahu Pong is located in Sandakan Bantul area. There are many tofu making centers with various variations. Usually the making of tofu stars from the morning and at noon the tofu is ready to be picked up by the customers. From here the customers take and can star frying at the stall they own. In the afternoon the customers know they can buy and enjoy the tofu that is still warm. Not only for personal consumption, sometimes it is also used for certain events such as meeting and others.
