If you take a road trip from Mount Bromo to Ijen crater and pass through the Baluran base, you will pass the Bajulmati reservoir. This reservoir is located on the border of Situbondo Regency and Banyuwangi Regency, East Java.

Before reaching this reservoir, you pass through a long and wide read forest owned by a government. It is strictly forbidden for anyone to enter this forest, what else to take the wood. Other than that, this forest is a place where the population of bulls and other animals is protected. There are also herds of wild monkeys and several types of snakes.
After passing through the teak forest you will enter the reservoir area marked with an entrance ticket gate. You have pay an entrance fee to be able to enter the reservoir area. After paying you can go down the reservoir with your vehicle, to the best spot to see the scenery.
My favorite place to enjoy this reservoir is on the south side. You can freely see the entire reservoir with the silhouette of sunlight. This Bajulmati reservoir is unique because it has a small island in the middle. The small island resembles the Raja Ampat in my opinion. The best time to visit here is in the afternoon. In this reservoir is also a place where people fish. But you should be careful if you are going to fish here, because it’s a bit steep. In addition, there are also many rest places or cafe that sell various kinds of food and drinks.
While relaxing on the road, you can relax for a while here, as well as seeing the scenery of the reservoir. After you finish enjoying the scenery, you can continue your journey to the Ijen crater. Thank you and enjoy your holiday!
