This travel story is about the story of a happy family vacation from Ecuador they are Gaby, Christin, Nelson and Loli. I gave this title the name is the Ecuadorian family’s harmonious vacation in Yogyakarta. Their family is very harmonious, looks full of love between them. Until I envy their happiness. Their family is from Ecuador but now they live in Spain. In the middle of May, Gaby contacted me via WhatsApp to ask about private transportation for July 4-5, 2025. Because I don’t have a work schedule yet, I was happy to agree to their request.
After communicating and discussing the tour program, they agreed and booked a tour and private driver from me. The day they arrived in Yogyakarta has arrived. They took a morning flight from Jakarta hoping to visit Borobudur and Prambanan temples in one day. But because their arrival time coincided with school holidays, it was a bit difficult to get Borobudur temple entrance tickets in the first session. They also got session 4 tickets at 11.30 pm.
I also had the initiative to invite them to visit Mendut Temple and Pawon Temple before going to Borobudur Temple. This was their first time coming to Java and Indonesia. For that, I had to provide the best service to this family from Ecuador. They really enjoyed the tourist attractions they visited. Until finally after visiting Borobudur Temple, I invited them to a place where Javanese sugar was made. They were very interested and tried to taste the original local Javanese sugar. After finishing the tour, we went to the hotel to rest.
A taste of Yogyakarta : food, culture & heritage
The second day, July 5, we planned to visit the palace, Taman Sari and Prambanan Temple. I picked them up at 8.15 am, to go directly to the Yogyakarta palace. After visiting the palace, we went to Taman Sari. Oh yeah, before going to the palace, we went shopping at a batik shop to buy sarongs and batik pants. Because I forgot to remind Gaby and her family to wear long pants.
The previous day I was invited to have lunch with Gaby’s family, but I refused because I had already eaten. But they asked to have a joint funeral on the second day. Since Mr. Nelson, Gaby’s father, wanted to eat ayam kampung or village chicken, I took them to try fried kampung chicken at Mbah Cemplung restaurant in Bantul. Thank God Gaby and her family liked it.
After finishing the tour in Yogyakarta, we headed to Prambanan Temple. It took a long time because the traffic was very busy. On the way back to hotel, I passed through a village road that was not too busy. On the third day, July 6, they asked to be taken to the airport. But before that, they wanted to stop by a silver craft souvenir shop. Gaby and Christina wanted to buy a silver gift for their mother. After buying some silver at the HS Silver Yogyakarta shop, we continued to the airport, which took about 1 hour.
The tour of the Ecuadorian family’s harmonious vacation in Yogyakarta ended in Yogyakarta. The warm hug from Gaby’s family from Ecuador really touched my heart. They treated me like my own family, their kindness was extraordinary. May their family Gaby, Christina, Loli and Nelson always be given health, success and happiness.
