Her name is Mariluz, a beautiful woman from Madrid, Spain who traveled to Java, Bali, Lombok, and Komodo Island. Mariluz knew me through a recommendation from Clara, a Spanish teacher who lives in Bali. Then Mariluz immediately contacted me to go on a tour in Yogyakarta. The first destination is on the island of Java and we will visit the temples in Yogyakarta and Central Java.

Borobudur Temple is our first visit and Mariluz has booked tickets at 8:30 am or in the first session. We departed from the hotel in Yogyakarta around 7 am, it takes about 1 hour to travel from Yogyakarta to Borobudur Temple. Along the way, we talked a lot about tourist attractions, culture, history, food and many things about Indonesia, especially Java. Because we were too busy talking, we didn’t realize we had arrived at Borobudur Temple. I escorted Mariluz to the entrance ticket office and the place to exchange the upanat (special sandals) for climbing Borobudur Temple.

As usual, I waited for each guest at my friend’s souvenir stall in Block E. It was a strategic place to wait, and there were also many street vendors offering various foods, even coffee vendors. After 2 hours of visiting Borobudur Temple, Mariluz finally came out and met me in Block E where I was waiting. We continued our journey to other temples, Prambanan Temple and Plaosan Temple.

Before arriving a Prambanan, I stopped first at the salak plantation along the way to Prambanan Temple. Mariluz was very happy to be able to see the salak tree directly and taste the fresh salak fruit. After being satisfied enjoying the salak, we continued our journey to Prambanan Temple. It was approximately a 30-minute journey from Salak plantation to Prambanan Temple.
I took Mariluz to the entrance ticket and I waited at the exit. After approximately 1.5 hours of visiting the temple, Mariluz came out and we moved to visit Plaosan Temple which is located only 5 minutes away from Prambanan Temple. Here Mariluz only spent about 30 minutes, because Plaosan Temple is not as big as Borobudur or Prambanan Temple.
After completing the temple tour, we continued our journey back to the hotel. Mariluz had already booked a train ticket for 9 p.m. to Bromo. This concludes our travel story with Mariluz, a solo traveler from Madrid, Spain. Hopefully, this will inspire those of you who plan to visit the temples in Yogyakarta and Central Java. Thank you very much, and have a nice holiday.
